Was reading the bible yesterday and i came across an interesting scripture explaining why we should love our enemies. The scripture say:
'But if you love those who loves you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same...
But love your enemies, do good and lend, hoping for nothing in return and your reward will be great, and you will be son of the most high.'
I couldn't agree more to what the scriptures say and i also understand the amount of patient and tolerance required to do that.
For many of us, we couldn't even forgive our enemies, but the scripture say we must love our enemies. And in that sense, i think we should understand 'forgive' not in the context
on you forgo the bad things someone did to you because you are a coward or they are too powerful that you are not capable to do anything to them, but in the context of
you are capable of killing your enemies and go free after that but you choose to forgo and bless them to live in happiness.
Imagine someone who have the chance to kill the person who rape their wife or murder their father but choose to let go, what kind of saint is that?
That's why the scripture say the one who love your enemies will be the son of the most high, because everyone will respect someone like that and someone like that will
never abuse the power that is given to them and the land that is given to them will be a land of peace and happiness.
PS: The bible is really full of wisdom!
